Thank you to my International and Domestic students! We would love for you to share a testimonial here using our online form.
Dear Ana Brandt - I want to thank you for all you do to help others achieve success and for your inspirational words. I have worked hard (and spent a lot in the last 7 yrs to improve my craft after I left teaching at 52--I am an older photographer, and I want to be the best I can be for at least 10 yrs). I have studied under the best - you (loved the small group workshop at your studios-both old and new, and your classes at the conference in Atlanta) , Sue Bryce (will be attending next master class), Meg Bitton and Kelly Brown (both small group wkshops), etc, etc -- 2 wks ago I received my scores from a national comp (mainly women) and didn't score as high as I thought I would on at least a couple -- I tried not to be down as I looked at the top "winners", realizing the judges were looking for certain types of images. 2 days later, still trying to be more upbeat and positive about my work, I received a package in the mail....I totally forgot that an image juried high enough with PPA to be chosen for the Vol XX PPA BOOK!!! There are some amazing images in this volume...and I - little, somewhat ol' lady ME!!! made it to this book! I love how you push us to be better and that you share your wisdom and techniques with those willing to learn!!! I am so thankful you chose to teach others as part of your amazing career, and you have a gift for inspiring others!!
I live and work in Argentina. I am a Pediatrician specialized in Pediatric Intensive Care and also a Photographer. I decided to fuse my two professions doing Newborn and Child Photography a year and a half ago and I discovered a world which I fell in love with. During this time a have done 2 workshops in Newborn photography and wrapping in my country and I always admire Ana`s And Aoife`s work so I decided to attend their workshop in San Francisco.
There’s so much I can say but I will say this. Ana has to be the single most motivating person I have ever met. Being an amateur with little clientele(friends and family) she has boosted my desire to go and be all that I can in this profession. She’s hand on with each student and very informative. She doesn’t even take lunch without the students. I feel more confident than I ever have and cannot wait to take this further than I could of imagined. Ana is much more than a teacher she is truly a blessing that shares a lot of what she knows without holding back. Many amateur photographers seek for knowledge from greats like her and are sometimes disappointed in what some photographers wouldn’t share or teach, she shares more than what I’ve seen because she knows her talent and her worth. You have to once in your lifetime take her workshop and make that financial leap because it’s worth every penny!
I recently had the opportunity to attend one of Ana's workshops in Boston. What an amazing day to get to train hands on with Ana. She was so transparent in how she approaches every session and I also appreciated getting to see her attention to every detail, which was fantastic. She gave each student very direct feedback in a way that was really helpful and constructive. I would absolutely recommend attending one of her workshops if you have the opportunity. I definitely hope to catch another the next time she's back in this area. Thanks for a great day Ana!
This was the first workshop I've ever attended. I was on the fence about going since it required a plane flight for me to get there and I'm afraid to fly, but it was sooooo worth it. I'm glad I went and would do it again in a heartbeat. Being able to watch Ana and Aoife up close and have them share their knowledge was PRICELESS!!! Getting such individual attention from them looking at the images on my camera and make suggestions as to angles, lighting, etc. was extremely helpful. I highly recommend Ana's workshops. 🙂
Attending Ana Brandt and Aofie’s workshop was aspiring. The entire workshop was informative, rejuvenating and just overall breathtaking. I literally made the purchase to participate in the workshop 12 hours before. I sat there and debated for a month prior justifying the expense in my head. I am so thankful that I took the leap. We all deserve it. We can all achieve it. Just keep your mind set on your goal and stay driven in finding those sources that can better you. How better can you get than Ana Brandt? Exactly, you can’t! I will never forget it. I learned so much. I’m excited for my journey from here on out! I hope that one day I’ll be able to work it out and go to another workshop of Ana’s. Thank you Ana and Aoife!
This workshop was hands on from begining Ana encouraged and supervised everyone in the class she transmit good energy and confidence to all the students from techniques to daily situations and give always the best and good smile. I know how I will implement the concepts learn because I already did it in the class and left me very inspired!
Hi Ana. I just wanted to thank you because you are one of the reason I started this path that I fell in love with, before I knew about the newborn session and maternity I took photography just as a hobbie, I wasn’t sure what kind of photography I wanted until I saw your work and I said I want to start doing newborn session too. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but beings inspire by your work I decided to walk this path and see what kind of photographer would I become. Thru this year and a half, thanks to this decision I learned not only about newborns and maternity but about myself, my own power and my potential to do things that I was afraid before. I’ve being following your work, online workshops and now getting to know you was like a dream coming true because I’ve never imagine that we could have you here, thank you for all the knowledge and also thank you to inspire us to do what we love. Regards from Costa Rica 🙂
Ana.. All I can say is this- She knows how to make a difference in someone's life. I was preparing to quit newborns and maternity sessions all because of my negative attitude. I heard Ana is coming back to VANCOUVER!! She had kept my email from the last time she had come to Vancouver and emailed me to let me know she will be back! I jumped to the opportunity and never looked back. I was a bit nervous and wasn't sure what to expect but she made the workshop look so easy, so fascinating and I couldn't begin to understand why I just began to experience a new fresh look into newborns and maternity again. Ana is a lot of fun to be around and she will make sure you understand what she is doing. If you ever get the opportunity to see her, don't miss out. I had a blast!!
It was an absolute joy and a pleasure to share an audience with Ana Brandt teaching a maternity workshop! Something I never thought I would get to experience. It was fabulous seeing how Ana's flow posing worked, something which I always struggled with. Her simple, yet beautiful lighting is stunning yet soft and encapsulates the beauty in pregnancy. I learned so much! I met some lovely photographers and most of all, I feel inspired. I feel more equipped to offer more variety in my work! I hope that next time I can attend a newborn workshop <3 thank you Ana for all that you do and for your precious time with us all.
I was lucky enough to recently attend 2 workshops with Ana, first maternity and then newborn. It was so much fun and I learned loads. Ana is friendly and enthusiastic and was so generous with her knowledge. There were several times when the room reverberated with a collective "aahhh" as she imparted a little gem of knowledge that we hadn't thought of before. If you have the opportunity to train with Ana, I recommend that you go for it. She is a wonderful trainer and a lovely person too.
I recently had the opportunity to attend Ana Brandt's newborn and maternity workshop in Vancouver, Canada. We spent the morning with two itty bitty newborns, learning about posing, lighting and angles! Ana is inspiring and I felt so grateful to not only watch her work, but to also receive her direct feedback on how to improve my images and work with newborns. In the afternoon, we also learned how Ana creates her maternity masterpieces! This was quite eye opening for me, as this is an area I did not have previous experience with. What a learning experience! Ana is incredibly down to earth, friendly and wants her students to succeed. She has been so supportive since the workshop, answering questions, providing guidance with editing, continuing to communicate with our group and providing her encouragement. I can't recommend her workshops enough and I would LOVE to take another in the future.
A dream come true.! Ana you are so special! You not only have a talent, but you also have a great personality. It was a pleasure to finally meet you, and I had a great time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and techniques. I learned so many things that I can't wait to start practicing and work hard on my images to improve it and take it to another level! You inspire the world with your art. May God bless you and your family abundantly. Hope to see you again... Warmest regards, Massi
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for a wonderful newborn/maternity workshop in Fort Lauderdale. I attended some other workshops before and the experience that Ana brings you during her workshop is absolutely invaluable. During the workshop she is an open book - answering all of your questions and giving you advice based on her experience. What I liked about it most that she cares about you walking out of her workshop with the knowledge you were looking for. She genuinely cares. I honestly didn't expect that level of support and inspiration. I would absolutely recommend Ana's workshop to a photographer of any level or experience!
I had a great time at the workshop with Ana Brandt. She really wants to make sure you are following the instruction and executing the way it supposed to be. Very nice workshop. Thank you for everything!
Ana, Yesterday was the 2nd time I've attended one of your in-person workshops, in addition to quite a few of your online courses. You never cease to amaze, teach and inspire not only me, but everyone in attendance. Each in-person workshop I've attended, the room has been full of wide-eyed audible aha moments, after seeing how simply you show and explain something that one of us (including me) has been stumped on for some time. It's pretty clear to me that we are all walking away having learned, discovered, and been inspired to go "do". I think that is a teacher's greatest accomplishment to teach and inspire students to go "do" whatever it was you were teaching or talking about. So often fear stifles us... and you inspire us to go "do". I have a list of things to "do" in the coming weeks, and I have you to thank for that! I'm emotional typing that because I needed that boost in me and in my business, and I know good things will come of this! Thank you so very much! Madelyn Hamilton (Maddy) MaddyLens Photography, Inc.
Wow! It was unreal to have Ana at our studio for her maternity and newborn workshop. She is so down to earth and made all the students feel connected and specially treated. Her knowledge and tips are something you can get only from the in-person workshop. No minute was wasted in the workshop and Ana really put a lot during the workshop and after. For me, learning how to do the backlighting maternity shoot properly was the most valuable technique I got from the workshop on top of so many things. Thank you Ana for coming to Vancouver and to our studio. You are an inspiration, educator, and excellent mentor. Big Love, Rachel
I have followed Ana Brandt for several years, watching her YouTube videos, investing in online courses, and finally taking an in-person workshop. Ana is the same down to earth professional that she is online. I found her hands-on training invaluable, and Ana's dedication to education other photographers is simply outstanding. She does not hold back information- instead, she gives it generously.
Thanks,Ana for the whole the way to come to Taiwan. This is really special experience to learn from Ana. Even you are not good at English but you still can feel powerful passion and inspire from Ana. Language will not stop you learning from Ana. Thanks again. 感謝Ana專程來台灣, 這是一個很特別的學習經驗. 即使你的英文不夠好你還是會感受到Ana教學的熱誠. 語言是阻止不了你向Ana的學習.再次感謝Ana.
Ana's workshop was so informative. I have been in the photography business for 20 years, yet she managed to enlighten myself and every single one of her students with knowledge that was clear, concise and useful. We had her workshop at my studio in New Orleans, and she was very organized and prepared. We had a couple of fussy babies and actually, everyone was relieved that it even happens to her and to see how she worked through it!
Ana is amazing. I had bought some of her online classes and attended classes of hers at conferences, and I wasn't sure what to expect from a workshop or whether I would gain more than I had already from previous classes. I was a teensy bit worried when I learned she'd fly in on a redeye and fly out the same night - would she be able to give us her all on such a grueling day? I should never doubt her! I am so in awe of her energy and openness. For such a public person to be so genuine and warm and able to connect with each of us individually is a rare and wonderful gift. That was honestly one thing I learned - I want to be as open and genuine and connected with clients as she is with students. It was a truly great day. Nuts and bolts things I learned - a new wrapping technique I'm dying to try, how to pose a newborn with head on arms, better camera angles, finessing of maternity posing - and editing - with all she has going on she had editing videos up for us within a day or two. Ana always inspires me to stop whining, ignore fear, and just do the work. This day was so worth it and I am so grateful to her for coming all the way to us and being so generous with her time, knowledge, and heart. If you have the opportunity, do not pass up the chance to do her workshop!
This was an amazing workshop! Ana was so kind and helpful, she really made you feel so welcome! I never felt out of place and she encouraged you to get in on the action and help and practice! SO happy that she came to Michigan! <3
When I heard Ana was going to be teaching a workshop in Michigan, I knew I had to attend. I watch Ana's You Tube videos, Creative Live workshops and podcasts to absorb as much as I can from someone who has mastered the fine art of newborn and maternity photography. Then the original studio she was going to teach at fell through, and low and behold the workshop was going to be held at MY studio! I was absolutely thrilled beyond belief, and totally terrified. NO reason to be- Ana was warm, funny, patient, and shared her amazing talents with those of us fortunate enough to spend the day with her. We laughed, we fed off each others energy, and we all pinched ourselves that we were blessed to learn from the master. Thank you Ana- for sharing your heart- and your art with us.
I had the time of my life! First, meeting Ana really moved me, but more she is as kind and funny as she looks in her videos. I've learned so much in this little day, I just hope I'll be able to remember everything. Ana listens to you and tries her best to answer any of the questions you may have. So yes it is a lot of money, but it worth every penny. She went through transitional posing in newborn and pregnancy, ligthing tips, wraps and props, angles to shoot from, marketing (I wish we had more time for that part), and everything you ask her to. Go for it! And thank you again Ana <3
I had an incredible experience at the Newborn Posing workshop. Ana's class exceeded my expectations in every way. Ana is a very thorough and knowledgeable teacher. She gives very helpful and specific critiques, which helped my posing and camera angles immensely. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to take Ana's workshop!
I had the most AMAZING experience at Ana's class here in Houston, Texas. She was very patient will all 10 of us. I didn't feel like we were rushed at all. She took time with each of us to perfect our shots. I was able to capture some amazing shots for my portfolio business and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me after learning from a FANTASTIC lady!!
I had the best time ever! All the attendees were fun, the models were amazing, I was so appreciative the of the hostesses and Ana Brandt is just a complete pro! She was full of knowledge and tidbits and tricks and so willing to share it all with us. Her style of instructing is comfortable and genuine, like a good friend sharing the things she's learned to make it easier for you. I couldn't have been happier with the experience and look forward to attending another of Ana's workshops!
I saw that ANA BRANDT was coming to MA!!! WHAAAT?! (insert all the eyehearts & confetti here!) I immediately snagged a seat in BOTH newborn & maternity sessions at Polina Kuklina's studio, a photographer who I never met but truly admire her style and studio, and counted the days down with high hopes but secretly worried I might be let down again. So the day comes and I enter the studio greeted with a genuine hug at the door by Polina! The workshop in January, I didn't even get a handshake & host photographer just leaned against a wall and said "hi" as serious big money spenders on learning from her walked through her door, never once learning our names in 2 days time! So with the hug and friendly fellow workshop particpants in attendance, I was hopeful and then pleasantly surprised when Ana had us all stand in a circle and introduce ourselves and tell what was important for us to learn that day. She called us all by name and *actually* looked at our shots on our cameras! Gasp! I loved Ana's patience and gentle mannerisms but I also appreciated her quit wit & sense of humor. She shared personal stories & spoke of her children and family. I felt like I was hanging out with an absolute real person who is truly down-to-earth despite being so distinguished in the business. In the beginning of the day when it came time to shoot newborns, I was feeling very inadequate with my own insecurities of just being a beginner and not truly understanding all the settings on my camera still and being around experienced photogs but I resigned myself to the fact that I was just happy to be watching Ana & being in Polina's beautiful studio but when it came time for the maternity session we got a lot of individual attention and she made me feel at ease posing the models on my own while she watched! This day was the highlight of my summer and photography experience and I walked away feeling MUCH more confident than when I walked in and I very inspired to keep trying and to get better. My dream is to have a studio one day and I know it will take baby steps (no pun intended) but just watching & learning from Ana boosted my spirit & my desire to follow my dream! I think the smile on my face in our photo together, along with hostess, Polina (and quite possibly one of Ana's other biggest fans!), says it all! Thank you, Ana, for keeping it real & inspiring newbies like me! I pray we will meet again! xo
The Central Park Shoot Out with Ana was an awesome experience. It was so much more than I thought it would be. Ana took the time to really demonstrate posing and it was such a small group that it felt like one on one at times. I assumed it would be more shadowing but I really learned a lot about directing, posing and hand placement. Ana is so chill and down to earth. I felt she really cared about teaching us technique and was a lot of fun to work with!!!
I love Anna Brandt' workshop! Every workshop has a special theme. I took the one day NYC workshop focusing on on-location session using natural light source. Ana taught us what essential items to pack for newborn, how to seek and utilize light, how to direct and pose subjects with smooth transitions. We also learned backlight technique and fabric tossing. It was a day of super fun. Ana really takes care of her students. She stays in touch with us and continues to support and inspire us. I will definately return for another workshop in the near future and I highly recommend it to others.
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, I felt Ana's very purposeful and genuine desire to teach and share with us the art of photographing both newborn and the maternity form. I learned both hands on baby wrapping techniques as well as new styles and ways to photograph a pregnant mommy with her family (husband and 4 year old child). Sometimes you attend workshops and the instructors come across as if they are keeping you at arms length, and only share 50% of what they know. But that was not the case with Ana. She came across genuine, down to earth and completely approachable. I would attend any of her workshops... any chance I could get.
I been following Ana's work for the past 4 years, in fact, I discovered newborn photography becouse of her. After working with babies for the past 14 years I took the chance and the challenge to work with newborn babies 3 years ago... Always dreamed about meeting Ana and learn directly form her but I live in Uruguay, and all the workshops were too far away form my country. This March, I finally had the chance to attend a workshop, I had to travel to Miami to do it, but it was so worth it! My work jumped into a whole new style and my clients are loving it. After 3 years of experience, once I get there, I seems to me that I was just starting again, her experience and magic are now in my work and my heart.
Before spending a week with Ana at Texas School, I was producing very ordinary images. My maternity sessions were stiff and uninspired, and I lacked confidence. My portfolio definitely did not scream "HIRE ME"! My posing was awkward, and it showed in my photos. My week at Texas School changed my whole approach to my business. I came home ready to start marketing who I am, but realized I needed to revamp my portfolio. So I set up a model shoot, and invited some local photographers to participate. We had two models, one brought her husband, and we all had a great time shooting, practicing the techniques we learned in school, and doing our first belly casts. It was such a boost to my confidence to prove to myself that I could take what I learned from Ana, and translate that successfully into my own work. My models went home feeling like they had a great experience with me, and are eager to come back for newborn photography! I am so excited to keep working toward my business goals, armed with all the knowledge Ana generously shared with us at Texas School.
My week with Ana at Texas School was amazing. Ana was very hands on and provided clear instruction on how she creates her amazing images. There was class participation the entire week. My take-away from my time with Ana was a whole new approach to maternity/newborn photography, new ideas for in-home studio set up, new marketing ideas and some beautiful images taken during the class.
Ana has been my favorite newborn/maternity photographer since I started my career. I always thought of her as a celebrity that I will never be able to talk to! But she turned out to be a real person, very approachable, and kind, and very patient. I attended her 2 workshops in NYC, and am looking forward to one more in Boston. We all know she is talented, but she is also very kind, warm and extremely patient with her students! At the workshop, she answers all questions, shows the angles and lots, lots of poses! She helps us to work with models even if we are a little nervous, or are not confident. Her workshops are amazing and eye-opening! They improved my work tremendously! Ana, thanks a million!
I love Ana's workshops! Not only I learn the techniques and skills for making timeless newborn and maternity arts, I also change the way I look at photography business and the value of being a photographer in general. It is life changing! I attended her NYC workshops twice in 3 months. After the first workshop conducted back in April, I saw immediate breakthrough in my portfolios as well as return in investment and I cannot be more thankful. I signed up for her July workshop without hesitation. Each of Ana's workshop has different focuses. The April one-day workshop covers both newborn and maternity. It focused on on-location session using natural light source. Ana taught us what essential items to pack, how to seek and utilize available light, how to direct and pose subjects with smooth transitions, etc. We also learned backlight technique and fabric tossing. The July mini workshop focused on newborn posing (including posing with parent), wrapping, prop safety, workflow, and studio lighting. It is some experience none of the online courses can replace. Ana is so down-to-earth and she shares generously of what she knows. Ana also takes care of her students. She stays in touch with us and continues to support and inspire us. I will definitely return for another workshop in the near future and I highly recommend it to others.
The workshop was an unforgettable experience from beginning to the end. I learn a lot from Ana techniques in wrapping , posing and capture, definitely I recommend Ana's workshop , specially if you want to learn how to create amazing images and growing up your business. Thank Ana for you time ,help and patience during all the workshop.
